Chris Shiflett

Korai évek

Chris 1971. május 6-án a kaliforniai Santa Barbarán látta meg a napvilágot Christopher Aubrey Shiflett néven. Mivel magánéletét féltve őrzi, így viszonylag kevés információ áll rendelkezésre gyerek- és tinédzserkori éveiről. 11 éves korában már érdeklődést mutatott nem csak a zene, hanem a zenekarosdi iránt is, így elkezdett gitározni tanulni. 14 évesen alapította meg első zenekarát, miután volt szerencséje ellátogatni egy Ronnie James Dio koncertre.

Zene

Chris később vezető gitáros lett egy San Fransicsó-i érdekeltségű zenekartban, a No Use For A Name-ben, amikor egy barátja bejelentette, miszerint a Guns N' Roses zenekar meghallgatást tart, ugyanis gitárost keresnek. Chris azonban arra kérte barátját, hogy inkább a Foo Fighters meghallgatására juttassa be, akik szintén gitárost kerestek akkoriban, nem sokkal azután, hogy rögzítették a There Is Nothing Left to Lose címre keresztelt, harmadik stúdióalbumot. Dave a meghallgatást követően azt mondta Chrisnek, miszerint akár csak a benne rejlő motiváció is elegendő ahhoz, hogy őt válasszák, így a zenész csatlakozott az akkor már öt éve együtt zenélő csapathoz.

Csatlakozását követően Chris csatlakozott a Foo Fighters There is Nothing Left To Lose címre keresztelt turnéjához, ezután pedig megkezdődtek a One by One nagylemez munkálatai. Chris többször kielemlte, miszerint erről az albumról a kedvenc nótája határozottan az All My Life, ugyanakkor rettegett attól, hogy a csapat szélnek ereszti őt Pat Smear gitáros visszatérésekor, ám szerencsére nem így lett.

Míg kétségek gyötörték maradása felől, elhatározta, hogy visszatér egykori zenekarához, a Nor Use For A Name-hez. A zenekar akkor már az új stúdiólemez felvételeivel foglalatoskodott, Christ helyére pedig a Suicidal Tendencidesből ismert Dave Nassie került. A zenész ekkor úgy döntött, saját projektbe kezd és csatlakozott a Lost Kittenz zenekarhoz (ez a mai Sugarcult). Később szerencsét próbált a  Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, majd saját projektbe kezett Jackson United néven, ezt követően testvérével, Scott-tal muzsikált együtt a Viva Deathben. (Érdekesség, hogy ezekben a produkciókban Chris a Jake Jackson név alatt futott.) Különlegesség, hogy Taylor Hawkinsszal is volt egy feldolgozásokat játszó zenekara, a Chevy Metal, melyben a Black Sabbath, a Queen, a ZZ Top és a Rolling Stones slágereit adták elő.

2009-ben csatlakozott a  Andy McCoy által alapított The Real McCoy-hoz -aki a finn rockbanda, a Hanoi Rocks gitárosa jeleneleg -, ám a zenekar három show után feloszlott. 

2010-ben a coutry-val kísérletezett a  Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants élén, majd még az én júliusában ki is hoztak egy saját magukról elnevezett albumot. 2013-ban jelentették meg új albumukat, All Hat And No Cattle néven, ám Chris életében mindig is a Foo Fighters állt az első helyen.

Chris boldog házasságban él, feleségével 3 fiút nevelnek (Liam, Daschiel és Eamon).

Érdekességek:

-2008 május 6-án egy Újzéland-i Foo Fighters koncerten a Vector Arénában Dave Grohl egy férfisztriptíztáncost hívott Chris-nek, a rajongók pedig énekelték a "Boldog születésnapot"-ot.
-Tervezett egy Tom DeLonge cipőt.
-Van egy "Gimme" tetoválása az alsó ajkán belül, amit részegen csináltatott Me First and the Gimme Gimmes zenekara emlékére
