Reba McEntire

Kezdetek:

Reba Nell McEntire 1955. március 28-án született Kiowában, Oklahomában. Szüleinek Jacqueline Smith és  Clark Vincent McEntire a neve. Édesanyja country énekesnő szeretett volna lenni, devégül  tanárnő lett. Viszont gyermekeit megtanította énekelni, így végül is megalakították a "Singing McEntires" csapatot, melyet Reba, fivére Pake és kis húga Susie alkotott. (Nővére Alice nem vett benne részt.) Rodeókon léptek fel és felvették a "The Ballad of John McEntire"  címú számot. 1974-ben elkezdett tanulni a Southeastern Oklahoma State University-n, hogy tanár legyen, de végül inkább folytatta az éneklést. Ebben az évben felkérték, hogy adja elő nemzeti himnuszukat egy rodeón. Red Steagall country előadóra mély benyomást tett és felajánlotta neki, hogy segít egyengetni énekesi karrierjét.Felvették a demot és 1975-ben Reba aláírt egy lemezszerződést a Mercury Records-nál.

Magánélete:

Testvérei közül csak Alice nem énekel, Pake sikeres country énekes volt szintén, húga Susise pedig mint keresztény énekesnő foglalatoskodik. 

Először 1976-ban házasodott meg egy rodeósztárral, Charlie Battlesszel, ám 87-ben el is váltak. Második házasságát 1987-ben kötötte Narvel Blackstock gitárművésszel. Így lett 3 mostohagyermeke és közös fiúk Shelby, aki 1990-ben látta meg a napvilágot.
