The Grinch's mission to steal presents
A surly green creature lives in a cave on Mount Crumpit and hates Christmas. He plans to ruin the season by stealing presents and decorations, and disguises himself and his dog Max as reindeer. When he discovers the holiday season has begun, he plans to dump all of the stolen goods. His mission is thwarted when he is discovered by Cindy Lou Who.

In the U.S., the Grinch was first featured in an animated television special. In that episode, an imp in a red and white coat, complete with green stockings, peeks into cars and steals presents. The resulting footage caused a stir and many people were confused whether it was real. The footage even made national news outlets call, wanting to know more.
