Back in the day when MTV still played music System Of A Down was a staple on metal playlists everywhere. The alternative metal trio are responsible for some of the most famous tunes like HYPNOTIZE, MEZMERIZE and STEAL THIS ALBUM!

The band went on a hiatus following the release of their 2005 Mezmerize/Hypnotize double album but recently frontman Serj Tankian has been speaking out. In an interview with Kerrang! Guitarist Daron Malakian, who is promoting his new Scars on Broadway LP Dictator, claimed that the band had to beg Tankian to make those albums.

The guitarist also spoke about the war in Iraq and the cost to the environment. He said that many musicians talk about green issues but that they don’t connect the dots to see how important the issue is.
