Following a widely circulated video clip on social media showing members of the tourist and environmental platoon of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) of the Issyk-Kul region driving a service vehicle in an inebriated state, the Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to intervene decisively.
According to the Interior Ministry's press service, "The unacceptable behavior and propensity for alcohol among Issyk-Kul police officers led to a thorough investigation by the Interior Ministry's Internal Investigation Service."
The result of this investigation was the dismissal of two officers of the tourist and environmental platoon of the Public Security Unit (PPSM) of the regional Internal Affairs Department.
Lieutenant Colonel M. T. and Senior Lieutenant N. u. were dismissed. A., accused of drunk driving during working hours. In addition, platoon commander M. N. was dismissed from his post for insufficient control and supervision over the actions of his subordinates, and several top leaders of the regional UVD and the Ton District Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) were brought to strict disciplinary responsibility.
