Metal Gear Solid Merch
Konami surprised a lot of fans by including the original Metal Gear games in the Master Collection Vol. 1. This will allow players to go back to the very beginning of Snake’s story.
The set also includes the NES versions of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. The games include a content warning, which some people find controversial due to the series’ incest themes and leering toward women.
Plaque
The original Metal Gear Solid took the world by storm with its genre-bending narrative and groundbreaking gameplay. Hideo Kojima grew up aspiring to be a film director, but now he creates video games that fuse controllable action with dramatic cut scenes to unspool the complex story his titles tell.
Despite its many flaws, The Phantom Pain is still an amazing game with spectacular visuals that set a new benchmark for this generation of consoles. Its plot can be a little confusing, but Big Boss’ presence always helps ground even the wackiest ideas in something approaching reality.
His ally in this game, Holly White, is also downright less annoying than Meryl from future MGS games. Plus, she and Snake have really good banter that’s downright cute at times. Poster
The art house Mondo is bringing two Metal Gear Solid merch pieces to this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The first is a poster featuring artwork by Sachin Teng. The second is a limited edition vinyl record containing the original soundtrack to the game.
In the video game series, posters play a large role in distracting enemy soldiers. The posters can be hung on the Cardboard Box to trick enemy soldiers into saluting them, or ogling them, giving Snake time to escape or take them out.
Few artists working in video games are as well-known as Yoji Shinkawa, who is responsible for the visual identity of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding. The game designer's signature sumi-e style designs and doodles are unmistakable. He worked with Hideo Kojima on Policenauts and the original Metal Gear, popular 2D side-scrolling games that launched the director's career. Shinkawa also worked on a wireframe and clay model for REX, the terrifying in-game dinosaur.
