Online vs full-time: how to choose a form of study
Online learning is gradually becoming a familiar format. Now, without leaving your home, you can not only listen to individual webinars, but also take full-fledged courses. An increasing number of universities are opening distance learning programs in a variety of specialties. What kind of education - traditional or online - is it better to choose if you can choose?

1. Flexibility
The main advantage of online learning is the ability to study anywhere, anytime. Even if the plan is "live" webinars, you can listen to them while sitting in bed, and sunbathing on the beach, and, if you wish, put on record and go about your business. Most of the classes are carried out independently, and there is an opportunity to choose the time and pace of work convenient for you. The only thing that is required is adherence to deadlines. No one will control you. Even if you need to write an essay, it will be easy for you to do it. With write my essay for me, you can easily write an essay. This is a very high-quality resource that will help you write your work quickly and efficiently.

The traditional format implies compulsory attendance of lectures and seminars, the time and place of which are strictly defined and may be inconvenient. If the area of interest is not in the universities of your city, you will either have to move to another and look for housing, or choose from the options that are available. Employers tend to accommodate students, but it is difficult to combine work schedules with pairs in courses or at the university.

2. Contact with the teacher
The degree of teacher involvement in distance learning can vary depending on the characteristics of the program. Ideally, the student has the opportunity to contact them directly, ask questions and receive ongoing feedback. More often, however, communication takes place either at set hours or during webinars. Sometimes, the only thing a student gets is an assessment of his or her work. If you buy video lessons or take courses online (for example, listen to them at Khan Academy), communication with the teacher does not occur at all, and it can be difficult to assess whether you understood the material correctly or whether you made a mistake while completing the exercises.

Studying within the traditional format, the student is in one way or another in constant contact with the teacher: you can ask questions at lectures and seminars, clarify something after them, and if you wish, go to the department or catch the teacher in between classes with other courses. All assignments are monitored and the likelihood of errors or misunderstandings is greatly reduced. But even if the teacher gives you an essay to write on a difficult topic. Don't worry because essay help will help you get through any writing job. You will be able to write a high-quality essay and the teacher will give you a good grade.

3. Socialization
In the format of distance learning, communication with other students is practically reduced to zero. Even if formally you are on the same course, you hardly overlap. You can try to make friends on your own, discuss classes and exchange experiences, but all this is at the discretion of the students.

“Traditional” students inevitably meet in pairs, in the corridors, in the dining room and during exams, constantly exchange opinions and knowledge, and not only within the stream, but also between different courses and even different faculties. On the one hand, this intellectually enriches and broadens one's horizons, on the other hand, it allows you to create connections that can be extremely useful in the future.

4. Motivation
One of the main challenges of online learning is that you need to be able to organize your work yourself, build a schedule and keep track of the approaching deadlines. The lack of strict control "from above" relaxes, and there is a danger either not to complete the studies, "failing" the exams, or to pass it only formally, without gaining real knowledge and skills.

In the case of traditional education, this danger is several times less. The fear of the need to answer in pairs forces them to open textbooks at least on the eve of class, and even if students do not listen too carefully to lectures, some of the information still reaches them. At the same time, the educational process, as a rule, is built in such a way as to force the children to gradually learn the necessary material by passing intermediate tests, works and tests.

5. The breadth of choice
Despite the increasing popularity of online education, only a part of Russian universities provide an opportunity to study remotely, so you will have to choose from a limited list of specializations. On the other hand, if the main goal is to acquire knowledge, and not to “crust”, the range of opportunities expands greatly, especially if you speak English: here you can choose among hundreds of different courses, learn from the most eminent teachers, without spending money on a trip to the other end of the world.

With traditional education, the situation is the opposite: there is a much wider choice between universities, which in the end provide a diploma that will be quoted in Russia, but the number of courses and master classes is limited.

6. Price
For online classes, you do not need to rent rooms for students, and therefore their price is usually much lower than that of traditional ones. Moreover, many platforms provide the opportunity to take some courses for free, and portals such as Khan Academy or the Russian Arzamas provide unlimited access to all of their lectures.

Traditional training will be more expensive. However, for most specialties there is an opportunity to enter the "budget", and some universities, such as Moscow State University or the Higher School of Economics, regularly hold open lectures on a variety of subjects.

7. Quality of teaching
Online education provides an opportunity to learn from the best of the best, but you have to work hard to get to the really worthwhile courses. It takes several hours to record webinars and create a website, and control over such activities is quite low, and every year more and more educational online resources appear, whose quality leaves much to be desired. In order not to be mistaken, you should carefully study who you order services from, and in the case of universities, check their accreditation and reputation.

In the segment of traditional education, you can also stumble upon unqualified specialists, however, due to the high costs on the part of the organizers and a high level of control, such situations are less common. In addition, in Russia, many experienced teachers are hesitant about distance learning and teach only in the usual format.

8. Practice
The distance between teacher and students creates a number of limitations, and the practical part of working online can be difficult. In theory, the teacher can show how to perform a particular task, and then evaluate the result using photographs or videos. In reality, this is not always possible.

Traditional education is more geared towards practical training. In the framework of "live" communication, it is easier to build teamwork, follow up on assignments and adjust the process. In addition, here you can provide students with the necessary materials, which is important for applied specialties, from floristry to construction.

9. Attitude of employers
Even if you have studied at a good university or with well-known teachers, employers can get biased when they find out that the lessons were held online. After all, he has not yet had time to become the norm, especially in the regions. In addition, in this case, it is more difficult to assess whether the student really listened carefully to all the lectures and acquired the necessary knowledge.

Strictly speaking, even a red diploma from the most prestigious university does not guarantee that a graduate is a really good specialist. And yet, in traditional teaching, there are many ways to test knowledge and more control by educators.

Over time, the field of online education will only expand, new formats will appear in it. There will be more specialties, and the quality of courses will increase. Already now, distance learning has its advantages, however, one should not forget about the advantages of the usual way of teaching.
