Joss Stone

Joscelyn Eve Stoker néven született az angliai Doverben. Az amerikai R&B és soul zenén nõtt fel, kedvenc énekesnõje Aretha Franklin. Joss korán felfedezte, hogy õ maga is hasonlóan tehetséges mint kedvencei. 2002-ben elhagyta a szülõi házat és elment egy New York-i meghallgatásra. Az akkor még csak 15 éves lány lenyûgözte Steve Greenberget Donna Summer "On the Radio" címû dalával. Rögtön szerzõdést kötöttek vele, és szülõi engedéllyel Joss abbahagyta az iskolát és megváltoztatta a vezetéknevét. És elkezdõdött énekesnõi karrierje.
Elsõ lemezén, ami a "The Soul Sessions" címet viseli, Betty Wright és Angie Stone énekesnõkkel dolgozott. Az album több mint 2 millió példányban fogyott világszerte.
Második albumára sem kellett sokat várni, 2004-ben jelent meg "Mind, Body & Soul" címmel, rajta a "U Had Me" slágerrel, amit rengeteget játszottak. Az album 14 dalt tartalmaz, ebbõl 12-t Joss írt, illetve részt vett a megírásában. Az album a UK Chart elsõ helyén debütált, így Joss lett a legfiatalabb elõadó aki ezt elérte. A korong több országban is platina lett, 3 Grammy jelölést kapott és 2 Brit Awards díjat nyert.
2006-ban Joss elkezdett dolgozni harmadik albumán a Bahamákon. A 2007-ben megjelent "Introducing Joss Stone"-on a soul legenda, Lauryn Hill is hallható. 2009-ben jelent meg soron következő albuma Colour Me Free! címmel, melyet két évvel késöbb a LP1 című lemeze követett. 2012-ben megjelent vadonatúj albuma The Soul Sessions Volume 2 címmel. Az anyaggal az új túrné is kezdetét vette, melynek során 2014 július 29.-én Budapestre is ellátogatott. A koncerten készülő új lemezéről is hallhattunk egy kis ízelítőt, mely 2015-ben jelent meg.

 

2012-es szoló lemezét megelőzően 2011-ben összeállt Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Damian Marley, A.R. Rahman és Joss felállásában a SuperHeavy zenekar. Azonos címmel jelent meg első albumuk is, 2011-ben.

2015-ben készült el Joss hetedik szóló lemeze Water for Your Soul címmel, melyről az eslő single a The Answer volt, melyet a Stuck on You és a Molly Town követett. 2018-ban a Tomorrow című drámában kapott egy filmszerepet, emellett pedig a Total World Tour túrnéjával járta a világot.

A 8. nagylemezig 2022-ig kellett várni, mely Never Forget My Love cmmel jelent meg.
