Celia Imrie

Imrie Diana Elizabeth Blois negyedik gyerekeként született 1952-ben. Guildford megyében született, pontosabban a megye székhelyében, Gurreyban.  Első iskolája a Guildford High School volt.  A színész Benjamin Whitrow-tól született egy kisfia, Anguse. 1992-ben és 2006-ban is bezsebelhetett egy-egy díjat ( Clarence Derwent és Laurence Olivier díj ) .

Karrierje

Imrie rengeteg mindenben kipróbálta magát, filmek, sorozatokban, rádió drámában és színházban is rengetegszer fellépett. Olyan filmekben kapott szerepet, mint a Nanny McPhee, Hilary és Jackie, ahol Iris du Pré szerepet kapta meg. Ezenkívül 1997-ben pedig a The Borrowerscímű filmben is szerepet kapott. Nem sokkal később a Bridget Jones naplójában kapott szerepet, majd a Calendar Girlsben és a Highlander című filmben is feltűnt. Főbb szerepei közé tartotzik például a Star Wars első része is.2004-ben a Out of Boundscímű filmben tűnt fel, ahol Imogen doktornőt alakított. Gemma Artenton mellett feltűnt a St Trinian's filmben is 2007-ben, ahol Matron személyét alakította. A filmben olyan híres színészek is feltűntek, mint Stephen Fry, Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Russell Brand és Mischa Barton.2014-ben a What We Did on Our Holiday című filmben, ahol Agnes Chisolm szerepében tűnt fel. A Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey?! című filmben is szerepet vállalt, mint Mrs. Keen.2015-re pedig olyan filmekre szerződtették le, mint a Keleti nyugalom - A második Marigold Hotel, itt Madge Hardcastle szerepét vállalta el, a Molly Moon: The Incredible Hypnotist, ahol Ednat alakította és a Year by the Sea volt, itt Eriksont alakította.

Sorozatszereplései is igencsak magasra nyúltak fel, olyan híres sorozatokban próbálta ki magát mint a The Nightmare Man, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, Casualty, Absolutely Fabulous, The Darling Buds of May és az Upstairs, Downstairs. 2000-ben például szerepet vállalt a Gormenghast minisorozatban, ahol Lady Gertrudeot alakította. A BBC Skócia sitcomjában is szerepet vállalt a Still Game, ahol Mrs Begget alakította, az otthoni segítőt. Ezenkívül feltűnt még a Mr. Harvey Lights a Candle BBC-s sorozatban is, ahol egy tanárt alakított. Szintén BBC-s sitcom szereplője lett méghozzá a After You've Gone című sorozatnak. 2013-ban pedig a Doctor Who című sorozatban szerepelt, mint Miss Kizle.2014-ben a Blandings című sorozatban szerepelt, mint Charlotte. nem sokkal később a Our Zoo minisorozatban kapott szerepet, mint Lady Daphne Goodwin.

2005-ben igencsak pozitív kritikát kapott a Unsuspecting Susanban. 2009-ben a West Enden lépett fel a Plague Over England darabban, majd Charles Spencer által készített The Daily Telegraph színháti darabjában tündökölt. Még ebben az évben a Mixed Up Northban tűnt fel, amelyet Max Stafford-Clark rendezett. Olyan színházi darabokban játszott még, mint a The Rivals és a A Is For Acid.

Magánélete
Imrie Londonban és Cowesban lakott. Egy fia van, Angus, aki Benjamin Whitrow színésztőé született. Angus feltűnt a Kingdom sorozatban is, illetve a Warwick University egyetemen tanul dráma tagozaton.Celia 14 évesen anorexiával küzdött és a St Thomas' Hospital-ban kezelte William Sargan elektrosokkos terápiával és jónéhány gyógyszerrel. A színésznő még ennyi év után is látja rémálmaiban az orvosát. 2013. október 18-án a University of Winchester díjazta őt.
