L.A. Reid

Antonio Reid vagy másnéven L.A. Reid 1956. Június 7-én látta meg a napvilágot Cincinnati Ohio utcáin.Első megjelenési eredménye a Cincinnati funk rock Pure Essence amely megjelenést kapott egy helyi rádióban 1969-ben. Reid ezután taja lett az 1980-as években a The Deele R&B bandának, melynek legjobb dala 2 alkalommal futott be LA produkció és egy felvevő stúdió keresztezése volt. Ezek után a banda feloszlott és csak ez az eg sikere volt, majd újraegyesültek úlyraidítsák a "2 alakalommal" ismert dalt és felálljon a listákon. A dal elérte a 100-as listákon a 10. helyet is.

1989-2004: LaFace Records és Arista év

A Deele feloszlott, Reid és a banada eggyik tagja  Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds alapította 1989-ben egy közös vállalatot melyet úgy hívtak hogy Arista Records, és aki miond ezt finanszírozta az nem más mint Clive Davis. A címke hamarosan elindult premier útjára egy népszerű afrikai-amerikai humoristához, aki megalkotta a Fekete Pop zenét mely 40-es listákra került. Reis aláírt Usher-el egy 14 ves szerződést amellyel 6 album kiadásával eladott 65.000.000 darabot világszerte. Más népszerű jogi aktusokkal dolgozott mint például Toni Barxton, TLC és Outkast. Atlantában volt  a kezdetleges székhely melly cimkéje az Atlanta zeneipar. 2000. májusában Reid és társa értékesítette a maradék 50%-os részesedést LaFace az anyavállalat BMG-vel. Az Arista Records értékesítést, markentingot és promóciós feladatokat is csinált. réd ebben az időben mentora Clive Davis elnőkévé lett. Davis hajlandó megadni utdjának kérésére az Ariata anyavállalatának a BM-nek azt hogy ő 67 évesen túl idős már.

Mint elnök Reid hívott aláírásának köszönhetően művészeket mint Pink,Ciara és Avril Laving kiknek bemutatkozó albumából rögtön eladott 6.000.000 darabot az Egyesül Államokban.
