Ving Rhames

Irving Rameses Rhames 1959. május 12-én született Harlemben, New York City-ben, New Yorkban az Amerikai Egyesült Államokban. Édesanyja a híres ház tervező/építő, Reather, édesapja, Earnest Rhames pedig autószerelő. A szülei Dél-Karolinában nevelték fel. Nevét a BBC újságírója, Irving R. Levine után kapta. A New York-i High School of Performing Arts-ba járt, ahol felfedezte színészet iránti szenvedélyét. A gimnázium után az SUNY Purchase-en folytatta tanulmányait, többek között drámát tanult, és Stanley Tucci tanítvány volt. Ő javasolta neki a „Ving” művésznevet. Nemsokkal ezután a Juillard School-ban tanult drámát, de levégül a Bachelor of Fine Arts-ból diplomázott le 1983-ban.

KARRIER:

Első filmes szerepét 1984-ben a Go Tell It on the Mountains című filmben kapta. Ezután egészen 1990-ig bezárólag nagyrész sorozatokban láthattuk kisebb, egy epizódos szerepekben. 1989-ben kapott egy nagyobb szerepet a Men című sorozatban, ahol elismerték színészi tehetségét. 2000-ig olyan sikerfilmekben szerepelt, mint a Hosszú az út hazáig, a Jákob latorjája, a Vér kötelez vagy éppen az Állj, vagy lő a mamám! 1994-1996 között a Vészhelyzetben 6 részben láthattuk Walter Robbinsként.

2000-ben kapta meg egyik legismertebb szerepét a mindenki által ismert Mission: Impossible filmtrilógia első részében, ahol Luther Stickell bőrébe bújt. A filmtrilógia további részeiben is szerepelt egytől egyig, a legújabb film 2015-re van tervben. 2003-ban a The Sytem, a Freedom: A History of Us és a The District című sozatokban láthattuk, valamint még jónéhány filmben. 2005-ben a Kojak c. sorozatban Lieutenant Theo Kojak szerepébe bújt 9 epizódon át. 2006-ban a Bolt egyszer egy másik Amerika és az Aquaman című filmekben szerepelt. 2007 és 2009 között szintén számos sikerfilmben szerepelt, többek között a Férj és férj-ben, az Animal 2-ik részében, a Pokolba az élettel és a Hasonmásban láthattuk.

2010-ben a Gravity című sorozatban Dogg McFee-t alakította 10 részben, míg a Halálfutam 2. című filmben Weyland szerepében láthattuk. 2011-ben a Pimp Bullies, a Julia X, a Zombie Apocalypse és a Misson: Impossible – Fantom Protokollban szerepelt. 2012-ben egy újabb Halálfutam filmben kapott szerepet, emellett még 4 filmben szerepelt. 2013-ban a Monday Morning című sorozatban, a Percentage, az In Security és a Force of Execution cím filmekben szerepelt. 2014-ben a Jamesy Boy, az A Day Late and a Dollar Short és a Sleight of Hand című filmekben fog szerepelni.
